University of Hartford’s International Festival
The University of Hartford’s International Center hosts its 24th annual
International Festival on Saturday, March 7, 2009. The festival begins at
5:00 pm at the Gengras Student Union. Odaiko New England is scheduled
to perform at 6:00 pm. The event also features performances by
Violet Samudra and Berkshire Samba, as well as cuisine from 11 different
countries around the world.
Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for faculty, staff and guests.

Salute to Baseball: Japan Style
To celebrate the start of baseball season at
Fenway Park, Odaiko New England and Japanese
jazz trumpeter
Tiger Okoshi
will present a
concert of traditional Japanese and American
music. The program will feature the
taiko-and-trumpet rendition of the National
Anthem that opened several winning Red Sox
games!
The one hour concert begins at 10:00 am on April 15th at the Fine Arts
Center Concert Hall at the UMass Amherst campus.

Jamaica Plain's Wake Up The Earth Festival
Odaiko New England joins local artists and
schools for
Jamaica Plain’s Wake up the Earth Festival.
Since 1979 the festival has stood as
a celebration of community, and a showcase of what
people of all traditions, cultures, ages, and beliefs
can accomplish when we come together!
Odaiko New England will be performing from 12:15 to 1:00 pm
on the 'Moon Stage'
near the Stony Brook stop on the Boston MBTA Orange Line.

Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger
Odaiko New England’s thunderous taiko rhythms
will energize more than 40 thousand walkers at
this year’s
Walk for Hunger
in support of
Project Bread. We’ll be playing at
Commonwealth Avenue and Hereford Street in
Boston, at mile 18.5 on the 20-mile route. We
look forward to sharing our spirit and joy
with walkers nearing the end of a long and
admirable journey.

Boston Dragon Boat Festival
Just like Odaiko New England, Boston's
Dragon Boat Festival transforms ancient
traditions into an exciting cultural
event. The longest-running dragon boat
festival in North America celebrates its
30th anniversary this weekend! And Odaiko
New England (who celebrated its own 15th
anniversary just last weekend) is thrilled
to once again send some noise across the
Charles River toward the Boston-side races.
The Cambridge-side festival starts at 12:00
noon and admission is free. Odaiko New
England performs at 4:00 pm, right before
