For Adults and Teens

Recreational Taiko Class

Great for beginners!

Date: Tuesday evenings
Time: 6:45pm – 8:30pm
Location: ACAS Center, 29 Montvale Ave., Woburn, MA (directions)
Cost: $275.00 for the fall semester (13 classes), $25.00/class drop in rate. $350.00 for the spring semester (16 classes), $25.00/class drop in rate.
Prerequisite: Recreational Taiko is open to everyone – no previous drumming or musical experience is necessary.
Registration: Complete and mail in the registration form.

The 2012 Spring Semester of Recreational Taiko will start January 24th, 2012 and end May 8th. The class fee will be $350.00 for 16 classes. To reserve your space, complete and mail the registration form.

Class Description:
In our Recreational Taiko class, new drummers learn taiko fundamentals such as kata (form), kiai (vocalization) and kumi-daiko (ensemble drumming). Using our entire bodies to learn and play a song, we explore first-hand the mesmerizing, heart-pounding power of taiko while exploring its rich traditions and history. Recreational Taiko is an invigorating experience for body, mind and spirit!

Taiko Styles Class

Date: Tuesday evenings
Time: 8:00pm – 10:00pm
Location: ACAS Center, 29 Montvale Ave., Woburn, MA (directions)
Cost: $275.00 for the fall semester (13 classes), $25.00/class drop in rate. $350.00 for the spring semester (16 classes), $25.00/class drop in rate.
Prerequisite: Minimally 6 months of taiko training AND instructor’s permission
Registration: Complete and mail in the registration form.

The 2012 Spring Semester of Odaiko New England's Taiko Styles Class starts January 24th, 2012 and ends May 8th. The class fee will be $350.00 for 16 classes.

Class Description: Explore several of the most popular taiko styles that form a common bond and language throughout the international taiko community. Each semester focuses on one taiko style.

Concord-Carlisle Class

Dates: Every Wednesday, January–June, September-December
(No class during July & August)
Time: 3:00-5:00pm
Location: Concord-Carlisle High School, Concord, MA

Organizer: The High School and Adult Taiko Class at Concord-Carlisle High School are a part of the Concord-Carlisle Adult & Community Education program.

Concord Carlisle Adult and Community Education 2012 classes will continue in the spring starting on January 18th.

Odaiko New England offers youth workshops and classes that are made by special arrangement. Please contact us for more information.
