Odaiko Workshop (Monday, 12/10, 6:30 – 9:30 PM)
Great tips and techniques for approaching this fun and powerful style of drumming. We’ll begin with core fundamentals and expand from there to address common problems and work on developing your own style and sense of expression. Mixed Level. Taiko experience required.

Her Odaiko workshops at events like the North American Taiko Conference, Taiko Camp, and the Regional Taiko Gatherings are always filled to capacity. Having taught hundreds of workshops, Tamaribuchi has honed her technique and instruction. We all know that taiko drumming is a physically demanding activity. Given the nature of how we move our bodies when we play, we are more at risk for certain kinds of injuries, especially with certain more physically demanding styles. The goal of this workshop is to provide you with tools and techniques that you can use to prevent injury while giving you a greater sense of control and freedom as you’re playing. All levels welcome.
Cost is $50.

Ear plugs are also highly recommended.
No experience is necessary! Returning students are welcome to attend. ONE brings enthusiastic and encouraging instructors and all necessary drums and equipment. Participants bring plenty of energy, spirit, and joy!
