Sara LiGuest ArtistSara Li has performed with Odaiko New England in "A Taiko Journey" at Springstep in November 2008 and in Pangaea: the University of Rhode Island's Roots Music Series in October 2009. Sara Li is currently a freshman at Wellesley College. An avid musician, she began studying flute in sixth grade and took up dizi (Chinese bamboo flute) a year later. Beginning in her junior year of high school, she studied taiko with Mark H Rooney as part of Concord-Carlisle High School's "Taiko After Dark" ensemble. Sara has held principal chair in several orchestral groups throughout the greater Boston region, and recently placed third in the U.S. Army Field Band Young Artist Competition. She loves performing both as a soloist and as part of a group, and she is honored to share the stage with her fellow guest artists and Odaiko New England. | ||||||||||||||||||
