STEVE WARDSteve joined the board of Odaiko New England in the spring of 2005. The only musical talent Steve has however is listening! He has experienced the exhilarating sounds of ONE at a few performances and looks forward to many more. Steve began his fundraising career at the Women’s Educational Industrial Union in Boston. Working with Elaine Fong, ONE’s Artistic Director, he provided support for the WEIU’s annual fund as well as working on special events. As the Director of Annual Giving at UMass Boston, Steve oversees all direct mail and telephone campaigns for a base of over 50,000 constituents. He hopes to use this experience to increase the level of support for ONE in order to promote taiko and to help increase awareness of Asian and Asian American cultures throughout the Greater Boston area. As an Asian American Studies graduate of UMass Boston, Steve has a broad understanding of the important contributions of the Asian American communities in Boston and beyond. When he’s not busy with work and volunteer activities, Steve can often be found on the golf course during the summer months. Someday he might break 80 – before he reaches 80! Celebrating the diversity of Boston allows each of our neighbors to experience a richer life. Taiko is the method that ONE uses to accomplish this goal. We hope you enjoy the exciting sounds of ONE Taiko! |
