Interested in Youth Taiko? Please click here to take a survey. The ancient art of taiko is a powerful way to expose young people to our diverse world heritage. Taiko is not only indelibly tied to many aspects of Japanese history and culture; it also plays an important part in festivals of modern day Japan. Learning taiko gives students of all ages an opportunity to more deeply appreciate this cultural heritage, while developing self-confidence and an understanding of the rhythmic vocabulary that is the basis for many types of music. Odaiko New England hopes to offer new youth programming this spring, but before we do so, we'd like to find out a little more about who is interested. As a result, we've put together a survey for families of children and teens (ages 8-18) who would like to learn taiko. Our goal is to determine the best possible programming for interested participants. Please click here to take the survey. For more information, please contact Karen Young at Karen@onetaiko.org, or 617-308-4900. |
